Aleksey Prosuzhikh

Aleksey Prosuzhikh is the director of the National Library of Komi. The appointment was signed on 1 June 2020 after Olga Miftakhova, the former director of the library, took a decision to retire.

Presenting the new director to the staff, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Archives of Komi Sergey Emelianov expressed deep appreciation of Olga Miftakhova's accomplishments and said that she "set the highest quality standards for the library system operations in the Komi Republic".

According to Aleksey Prosuzhikh, his biggest challenge in the upcoming months is launching the capital renovation of the Library building so that it would open its doors to the patrons by the Centenary Anniversary of the Komi Republic in 1921. The next important task is to continue providing high-quality services introducing innovative approaches and best practices.

Aleksey Anatolievich Prosuzhikh was born on 8 February 1975 in the Village of Mezhog, Ust-Vym District of the Komi Republic. He completed his master's degree at the Syktyvkar State University in 1999 majoring in Physics and Economic Science. In 2004, he was enrolled at the advance training programme for administrative personnel taking a course in Financial Management.

From October 1999 to June 2004, he was a senior specialist and the head of the department at Zheshart Plywood Factory.
From June 2004 to October 2010, he was appointed the Deputy Head of the Ust-Vym Municipal Administration for economic and financial issues.
From November 2010 to December 2010, Aleksey Prosuzhikh served as counsellor for planning, finance, analysis and controlling at the Ministry of Culture of the Komi Republic.
From January 2011 to December 2013, he was the Vice Minister of Culure of Komi.
9 December 2013, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Tourist Agency of the Komi Republic. Later, he worked as Vice Minister for Economic Development of the Komi Republic.
In 2017, he was appointed First Deputy Minister of Industry and from January to May 2019, he acted as Minister of Investment, Industry and Transport of the Komi Republic.
From 2019 to 2020, Mr. Prosuzhikh served as Vice-principal for finance and administration at Ukhta State Technical University.

Minister Emelianov wished Aleksey Prosuzhikh further professional growth and development in his new capacity.
