Komi Theater in Dialogue with the World

The National Library of the Komi Republic is happy to invite Syktyvkar people to the talk with French linguist Sébastien Cagnoli, author of a new book about the Komi theater: LEVER DE RIDEAU SUR LE PAYS KOMI. Un théâtre finno-ougrien de Russie boréale en dialogue avec le monde (Raising the Curtain Over the Komi Land. Finno-Ugric theater of the Russian North in dialogue with the world).

Why does the book have such a title, what discoveries does it hold for the European reader, why are books about northern regions of Russia in fashion in France - these are the questions we are going to discuss with scholar in Finno-Ugric studies, multi-language translator, and good friend of the Komi Republic Sébastien Cagnoli.

The presentation of the book will be made on the eve of the 130th anniversary since the birthday of Victor Savin, the founding father of the Komi national drama.

The author already presented his research in Moscow, at the Komi National Office.

The meeting is in English, with consecutive interpretation. You can also ask your questions in Komi, Finnish, French, and of course Russian.

The attendance is free.
