24 October 2018 Finno-Ugric Fusion in a Shopping Mall What is a good idea for a Sunday program? Some think it is shopping with your family. But why not combine shopping and... reading.
On 21 October, the National Library of Komi created a pop-up community centre and a concert venue in the Parma shopping mall introducing a thematic Sunday programme - Finno-Ugric Fusion.
We fused together music, dancing, poetry, games, and of course books to tell about a multi-national Finno-Ugric world in Russia and other countries. It was a perfect immersion into the cultures and languages of the related nationalities. Those who came to Parma on that day could enjoy a Komi hip-hop performer, register in the LitRes e-library, try and make a traditional Komi doll, take a look at our new arrivals, and win lots of nice treats from our partners: RubLion Cinema Theater and Cinnabon Cafe.
Next time, the National library will open its pop-up community centre in a big supermarket in November. |
