07 August 2018 New Exhibition in the Arts Department The Arts Department of the Komi National Library introduces an exhibition by Vsevolod Zolotarev who creates graphic works for music merchandise. His drawings appear on posters, album covers and other merch of Russian and foreign music bands performing metal, hardcore, punk rock and other styles of music.
The artist's works are brutal, expressive and filled with subsided powerful energy. Vsevolod Zolotarev tackles archetypal imagery of swords, mountains, castles, long corridors going nowhere, mysterious guardians, with subtlety and finesse. His graphics often contain allusions to the world literature and mass culture. The artist masterfully treats the composition, line and shade producing suggestive and beautiful pieces.
