Austronauts and Space Photo Shooting

On April 23, the National Library invites to the annual All Russian library festival - the Biblio Night. The event will take place from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Yugor Center for Cultural Initiatives.

This year the event is timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight, so the program of the night will be entirely star-themed. The library will arrange a quest for those wishing to "be enrolled as astronauts." At the entrance, each guest will get a check-list to follow up progress of testing. For example, the contenders will need to pass the physical training station, the knowledge station and some others, with more creative tasks. Those who have passed all the tests, will get special prizes from the partners of the National Library.

The event will operate in a "free flight" mode. The visitors will have an opportunity to join the meeting of the Syktyvkar Astronomical Club, whose members will share their experience of taking photos of stars at night, show their work, and give advice to beginners. Fans of interesting locations for selfies will enjoy the Secrets of Infinity Photo Zone.

Young guests will hear stories about Yuri Gagarin's childhood, watch mini-films about space using VR headsets, take part in master classes in origami, dough plastic and stencil techniques. Also, another entertaining activity for the guests will be to work with a 3D pen and make their own personal sign of the Sun based on the Upper Vychegda ornaments.

Members of the song lovers' clubs will perform well-known and popular songs about space, the sky, and the stars. The mobile library van outside the center will offer karaoke from 8.30 pm.

For the first time since the pandemic, the Biblio quizz, which has gained popularity  among Syktyvkar intellectuals, will be held offline. This team contest involves six rounds of six questions from different fields of knowledge.

In addition, fans of the Literary Mafia Game will gather for a session. The theme of this psychological game will center around sci-fi books by Isaac Asimov.

The visual climax of the event will be a fire show from the Firefly Company.
