The National Library of Komi Signs a Cooperation Agreement with the Russian Knowledge Society

On 19 August 2020, the National Library of Komi and the Russian Knowledge Society signed a cooperation agreement.

The agreement waws signed by Director of the library Aleksey Prosuzhikh and Chair of the Komi Regional Branch of the Russian Knowledge Society Olga Osipova.

The objective of the agreement is to conduct joint educational events for the population and the professional library community, develop new forms of activities in the information space to popularize the historical, cultural and scientific heritage of Russia and the Komi Republic.

"The main task of the Society is to educate citizens in various fields of knowledge: from scientific research and education to personnel management and administration, financial planning and psychology. In this educational function, we are very similar to the National Library", - says Olga Osipova.

Under the cooperation agreement, it is planned to organize lectures, trainings, and educational games. The speakers will be experts in various fields - academicians, doctors of sciences, practitioners with extensive experience. In addition, discussion clubs will be organized. According to Olga Osipova, now, after a long self-isolation, "people feel a greater need for live communication."

As Aleksey Prosuzhikh noted, after the renovation, the library should change not only externally, but should also offer its patrons something new, including through interesting partnerships.

"Our interaction can focus on such areas as art, culture, and education,” - noted A. Prosuzhikh. - "People will always strive for self-development, new competencies and skills. I am sure that this project has a good future".

Both leaders noted that the library is a great platform to embody educational ideas, communicate and gain new knowledge.

The Russian Knowledge Society is the successor of the educational organization that emerged in the Soviet Union in 1947. Today, the society is a public non-profit organization that carries out educational activities in the regions, creating intellectual content, as well as providing social support and protection serving for the young and the old.
