Quarter of a Century with the Board of Trustees On 14 January 2020 the Komi National Library Board of Trustees convened for its 25th meeting.
The director of the library, Olga Miftakhova, reported about the library activities in 2019, including major events, projects, campaigns, meetings, competitions, and achievements. Olga Miftakhova shared the news about the recent developments in the Model Libraries pilot project implemented in the republic (as part of the Culture National Project). The trustees clarified the project objectives for 2020 and the prospected target for 2021.
In 2019, the Board focused on several areas of activities. Due to the financial and informational support from the Board members, the library carried out a well-rounded programme:
- the Day of the Arctic;
- the annual social campaign - Summer Reading Room;
- the regional stage of the International Children's Competition, School Patent - a Step into the Future;
- the youth entrepreneurship project - Entrepreneurship Without Borders;
- the contest, My Republic in Books, and some others.
Grant projects allowed attracting more visitors to the library and popularize cultural and educational events.
The library administration thanked the trustees for their support in preparation for the grand renovation by providing the transport facilities and volunteer force.
A number of proposals for the joint work of the National Library and the Board of Trustees for 2020 were submitted to the trustees for consideration. The main event of the year is the Regional Book Exhibition and Fair - Scarlet Ribbon - scheduled for May.
