24 December 2019 From the Bottom of Your Heart On 23 December, the librarians delivered New Year gifts to the retirement home in Syktyvkar.
The traditional charity initiative of the National Library of the Komi Republic was launched on 1 December. Every year we announce a gift-giving campaign to collect presents for elderly people living in the Syktyvkar Retirement Home. Most of the residents there have no relatives and do not expect extra attention on the New Year Eve.
This year we have collected more than 30 kilograms of presents and formed 30 gift packages with sweets, toiletries, mittens and other things.
As part of the initiative, children from Syktyvkar kindergartens made New Year cards to be put in the gift packages.
We would like to thank all Syktyvkar people who took part in the campaign and gave a piece of their heart to the senior citizens. |
