28 May 2019 The National Library of Komi Celebrates the Library Day On 27 May, we marked the All-Russia Library Day with a programme of events for a diverse audience.
The morning assembly of the library staff was attended by Komi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Archives Sergey Emelyanov, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Policy, the Komi Republic Trade Union and the library trustees. They congratulated the library workers with their professional holiday and presented letters of gratitude and certificates of merit. The guests and library staff enjoyed musical greetings from soloist of the Theater of Opera and Ballet Natalia Batlukova. She performed opera hits from her repertoire and got a big hand from the audience. This was the day when loud applause was permitted in the ever quiet library halls. In the day time the library was flooded by students of Syktyvkar schools who are traditionally most important guests on the Library Day. They took a tour of the library divisions and competed in online games based on their reading lists. The library quiz gathered six teams of intellectuals and erudites who had a battle in answering the questions about library trivia. The game was emotional and tense and even more so since one of the teams was represented by professional librarians.
Thank you to all the library patrons and guests who visited us on that day. |
