14 May 2019 Solo Artist Photo Album: New Possibilities of Artistic Expression On 17 May, 18:00, please be invited to attend a talk by three professional photographers, Mark Onikul, Sergey Gorbachev and Alexander Galutsky, discussing the production of photo albums by individual photo artists.
The photographers and authors of their own photo albums will present their artistic projects, speak about modern trends in photo art and possibilities for regional photo artists to create individual photo albums.
Posing an individual photo album as a form of artistic expression, the guest speakers believe to be a leading format in which photo art can exist. Alexander Gorbachev will speak about his experience of working as a camera man in Saint-Petersburg when hundreds of meters of film footage resulted in a single photo album. In his opinion, shooting a film is a team work whereas photography is a strictly individual form of art. Alexander Galutsky will talk about his most successful projects, including the most recent, Tectonics, presenting photo albums not only as a form of self-reflection, but artistic commentary on the contradictory world events.
