16 April 2019 Library Night 2019: What is on? This year, the traditional all-Russian Library Night is theater-themed and, as any theater premiere, exciting.
On 19 April, the Friday night at the National Library of the Komi Republic will take you on a tour behind the improvised stage and walk you through successive stages of a theatre production. You are going to prove yourselves that "all the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players".
We hope to inspire you with a variety of shows and hands-on experiences based on the theatre life. What is to be expected?
The lobby of the second floor will turn into a central stage with a non-stop performance. You will see creative sketches by artists of the Komi Opera and Ballet Theater, the Theater of Music and Drama, the University Center for Creative Arts, and smaller amateur theater groups.
Those who are interested in the early days of drama will have a chance to get enrolled on a team of the Ancient Greek Argonauts to have a journey into Greek myths, tragedies, and... the library depositories. The immersive theater experience imitating and exploration game will guarantee a proper challenge to your wits and talents.
If you are enthusiastic and confident, you can try your hand at acting in our two-hour acting studio with pantomime and recitals from the best classic plays.
At least four themed areas are meant to attract a family audience: a puppet show, an origami master class, an online quiz game based on theatrical trivia and a prop shop with a collection of items from various theater productions.
Our theatre cafe for the night will offer not only smart coffee and deserts, but also entertainment: poetry reading, live music and dancing.
We are holding a couple of other cards up sleeve. The Library Night should be full of surprises. |
