Komi National Library Signs an Agreement with Komi Scientific Centre
The Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Library of the Komi Republic have signed a cooperation agreement.
The event is timed to coincide with the Year of Science and Technology in Russia and the 100th anniversary of the Komi Republic. The agreement was signed on July 21 by Director of the National Library of the Komi Republic Aleksey Prosuzhikh and acting director of the Center Aleksey Samarin.
The subject of the agreement is joint activities aimed at promoting the scientific and cultural heritage of the Komi Republic, knowledge in sciences and humanities, and innovation.
- The library has many points of intersection with the academic community. Since the 1950s, we have been maintaining a database of patents and collecting materials on scientific developments. We agreed that our patrons will be able to use the resources of the Center's library, and the patrons of the scientific library will have full access to our collections and major Russian libraries, including the Federal Institute of Industrial Property, - said Aleksey Prosuzhikh.
According to Aleksey Samarin, the National Library is the main bank of unique information about the Komi Republic, whereas the Komi Scientific Center is one of the data providers for this bank.
- In the Year of Science and Technology, we choose to strengthen our cooperation and interaction. The cooperation agreement will pave the way for the implementation of large-scale joint projects, - said Alexey Samarin.
